The Junior Curriculum

At Campbelltown Performing Arts High School we offer a diverse, semesterised curriculum. In most subjects students will be placed with their age cohorts; whilst in some, particularly the elective areas, students may find themselves in multi-aged groups or stages. 

In Year 7 and 8 all students must complete the mandatory areas of study in English, mathematics, science, history , geography, design and technology, language other than English, visual arts, music and personal development, health and physical education and sport. At CPAHS all audition students also study their individual performing arts discipline each year whilst non-audition students complete a taster course in performing arts.

Year 9 and 10 students study the core subjects of English, mathematics, science, history geography, personal development, health and physical education and two electives. Elective subjects include dance, drama, circus, aerial circus, music, food technology, wood technology, metal technology, commerce, photography, visual arts, visual design and human movement. languages may be studied through distance education.

The Senior Curriculum

A wide range of board developed and board endorsed courses are offered at CPAHS. Students study six subjects in the preliminary course and a minimum of five subjects in Year 12. Course offerings include English (all courses), mathematics (all courses), chemistry, biology, physics, senior science, earth and environmental science, geography, modern history, ancient history, business studies, legal studies, society and culture, drama, dance, music, film and video studies, media studies, photography, visual arts, visual Design, ceramics, community and family studies, industrial technology, software design and development, information processes and technology, textiles and design, exploring early childhood, personal development, health and physical education, sport lifestyle and recreation. The school also offers a comprehensive range of dual accredited vocational courses including entertainment industry, hospitality – commercial cookery, construction, business services, retail operations and information technology. 

Students can also access a range TAFE delivered VET courses.
