Campbelltown Performing Arts: The place to be!

Campbelltown Performing Arts High School is one of the original specialist performing arts high schools in the state. The school has developed many state-of-the-art facilities and these include a drama studio, dance studio, recording studio, television and film studio, specialist computer labs and a hall facility which allows both traditional circus and aerial circus to operate together. Our hall facility has a professional audio visual installation which allows for in-house television coverage for live performance and further extension to a Connected Classroom webcast of live performances to other venues.

The performing arts faculty has dedicated, talented and highly trained teachers who are always seeking to increase the opportunities available to students both in and outside the classroom. Many P.A. staff have won regional, state and national awards for excellence in teaching. Staff are highly committed to technological innovation and to adapting technology to suit the needs of the student in the everyday classroom.

Students are regularly selected for performances in Schools Spectacular, The Talent Development Project, regional and state dance and drama festivals, and regional and state dance and drama camps. We also have a busy in-house calendar of events which allows all auditioned students to perform in public at least twice a year. We have established an ongoing relationship with Campbelltown Arts Centre and Campbelltown City Council to present a number of marquee productions at the Arts Centre each year. Our students are also generous in supporting our local community with free performances at significant events such as Anzac Day.

We are also proud of our delivery of The Entertainment Certificate III Vocational Education course. Our professional facilities and technical resources allow us to train students professionally for work in the arts industry and many of our students have made their careers in the arts, both on-stage and backstage.

Music students are well supported with a Band Tutor Program whereby industry professionals are employed to provide small group specialist tuition on a regular weekly basis. There are a number of extra-curricular ensembles that provide alternative opportunities for students wishing further extension activities. There are a number of dance ensembles, drama company A and rock and other Music Ensembles available.

Courses offered include Drama, Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Circus and Aerial Circus, Film and Video and Entertainment Certificate III. We have an active excursion program,  specialist PA uniforms, modest fees and can provide limitless opportunities for our students.

We pride ourselves on innovation, professionalism, teamwork and creativity.
